The product is nicely packaged, and looks to be of a sound design. The package included two short USB cables, USB-A to USB-C, as well as USB-C to USB-C.It also included an installation manual, but it is printed in a microscopic font making it difficult to read without a magnifying glass.Regardless, after reading the instructions, I plugged it into my 2018 Kia Sorrento's USB-A port and was able to pair it successfully to my Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra (Android version 14 with the August 27, 2024 version of Android Auto) via Bluetooth, but this is where things went awry. The media screen ONLY had the 'Apple Carplay' widget highlighted...the 'Android Auto' widget was greyed out making the device useless for me.For reference, connecting my phone to the car directly via USB works fine...I purchased this device to bypass the physical phone connection...oh well)The instruction pamphlet described a process to upgrade the device's firmware, but I was unable to do so as the IP address given was not available making a firmware update (if even needed) out of the question.(As an aside, I had previously updated my car's software thru Kia last year so it doesn't have the 2018 version any longer.)I'm sure the device would work well for Apple folks, but I'd be wary if you want to use it for an Android.
