The part which charges your phone is not directly attached to the stand, and magnetically attaches to your phone when charging the phone. When you remove the phone, the phone charger part just comes off with it, and it is not trivial to reattach. Big oversight in product design. Plenty of other good ones on Amazon to buy instead.
