I won't be using this charger much since for Makita I only have a drill and a tire inflator for emergency use. I didn't wish to buy a brand name charger at (probably) double the price of this one so I decided to gamble on it. Tried it as soon as it arrived, battery at about 30% left, charged up in about an hour or less. I've read reviews about these budget types and some complain and some have probably died before too long (according to them) but I'll be happy if I get a year and even ecstatic if it's 5. My other tools are of 2 similar brands and for those my chargers and b atteries have lasted for years but after getting the 2 makita items as gifts, this charger was worth getting it as a spare. The red light stays steady when charging, the green light stayed steady when complete. I like it!
