I can't say how protective the sleeve is, because I installed it only minutes ago. I can comment on the installation process. The vendor included a tool and an instruction card and, once you figure out how to use the tool, the sleeve slides onto the charger cord very easily. And, for me, at least, figuring out how to use the tool was very easy, given the instruction card. So far, I'd have to say the product is well made and it fits well. If I could suggest one small improvement, it would be to make the sleeve 25 feet long, as my cord is 25 feet long, and, as I understand it, charging cords don't come longer than 25 feet long. I am very pleased with the product as of now.
