I have never installed a stereo on any car, let alone removing a trim to replace anything on it, not even changing a car speaker. This was my first time and my main concern was breaking the trim. I watched the many videos online for this unit to learn before doing the installation. It was easier than i thought, actually, it was very easy. So, if you are like me, don't worry about anything. You just need the tools to remove the trim (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R44VJHN?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title) and follow the easy instructions that come with this head unit. The way i did it was: I installed all provided cables first in the new head unit. Then i went to my car, removed the trim and unplugged the AC . Then I removed the 4 bolts (10 mm) and unplugged the radio. Finally, i brought the new head unit to the car (with all cables attached) and proceeded to connect the 4 o 5 plugs from the car to the ones in the head unit. You can't make a mistake because all are different so you can only connect a plug to the right connector on the head unit. There will be several plugs that you will not connect anywhere because they are for those vehicles with amplifiers, XM radio etc. So, don't worry about those. My car comes with a rear view camera and it works perfectly. My Highlander already has a USB available so i connected the USB adapter that comes with this head unit to the existing plug in my car. I didn't use the 2 extra usb adapters that came with this head unit but you can run them to the glove compartment if you want.I attached the provided microphone to the plastic on the side of the AC vent, instead of removing more trims and the door gasket and creating more havoc inside the car. The wifi antenna i attached it to the top of the tray under the radio and the GPS antenna i attached it to the frame inside the opening where the head radio goes installed. Everything works perfectly. The wifi antenna connects great to my home wifi and to my phone hotspot, the mic works great too, everyone hears me perfectly over the phone and the GPS antenna also works great so right off the bat i can tell you there's no need to run the mic and the antennas all the way to the gasket, into the column trim and to the left top of your windshield. There are several locations where you can hide them and they'll work great. The unit works very well. It connects to my android auto without a problem. It has the android play store where you can download whatever video or audio app you want: netflix, Hulu, Directv etc. I downloaded DirecTV and Netflix and they worked flawlessly with my phone hotspot (5g). It also has you tube already installed so you can watch that too. Be careful when driving !There's also a noticeable sound improvement. I had the basic Toyota radio with the Toyota speakers and sound was really subpar. However, with this head unit the sound is way better. It also has a graphic equalizer that you can customize to your liking or pick the preset equalizations (rock, vocal, heavy metal, pop, etc). My next project will be to replace the speakers with better ones. Once I'll do that my beloved Toyota Highlander 2015 will look, sound and behave like a 2025 model, without paying $700 or more a month. Remember, your old highlander can last many many years and miles if you take good care of it.One more thing: When installing this head i would advise you to place a towel or some other protection under it because the screen is big and you may scratch it. There's a glass protector that comes with this head unit. USE IT!.. it will protect the screen from scratches. Remember, the screen is big and it's near you and accidents do happen.
